Assault rifle magazines found at the home base of the bouncer boss of Cape Town

A late night robbery at the home of an alleged underworld figure and bouncer boss resulted in the seizure of R4 / R5 assault rifle magazines, along with South African army clothing.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut confirmed that two persons aged 49 years were arrested in connection with a blackmail case.

"This office can confirm that two suspects … were arrested by SAPS in their respective homes in Plattekloof and Parklands last night [Thursday] on charges of harassment, GBH attack, extortion, kidnapping and blackmail, "Traut said.

The men are expected to appear on Monday at the Magistraatshof in Cape Town. They can only be given a name once they have argued.

TimesLIVE understands that during the robbery in Plattekloof several firearms magazines were seized.

TimesLIVE arrived at the scene in Loevenstein on Thursday evening, where heavily armed members of the Tactical Response Unit invaded a terraced house in one of Cape Town's most prosperous suburbs.

The officers put on masks as they searched the grounds and entered the house high on the slopes of a steep hill.

Purchased clothing included insignia from the Infantry School of the South African National Defense Force.
