& # 39; Disciplined & # 39; Supra to be integrated & # 39; integrated & # 39; in the North West team of ANC

Ousted ANC president of the Northwest and & # 39; disciplined member of the ANC & # 39; Supra Mahumapelo will be integrated into the provincial task force to be located in the troubled province, said ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule on Friday.

On Friday morning he addressed the media to the special national executive committee (NEC) of the party that met in Cape Town the night before, where it was decided to dissolve the provincial states of the Northwest and to remove Mahumapelo as chairman.

After weeks of unrest in the province, Mahumapelo was deported in May as Northwestern Prime Minister, but remained in the powerful position of provincial chairman.

Job Mokgoro replaced him as prime minister and will also lead the task team.

The special session of the NEC decided to intervene in the province of North West to strengthen the organization and increase its ability to fulfill its mandate to the people of the province.

"The NEC has agreed to set up an inclusive provincial task force team that is tasked to unite and position the organization as an effective leader of society," said Magashule.

Team members are announced

He said that this was done in accordance with the ANC constitution.

"The provincial task team is expected to work together with all ANC structures, including alliance partners, in guiding the provincial government and in building a strong electoral mechanism from 2019."

Magashule said the NEC had instructed the party's national working committee to meet as soon as possible and to proceed to the public names of those sitting on the all-inclusive PTT (provincial taskgroup team) which will be a reflection of the broad political spectrum of the democratic movement in the province of North West ".

News24 reported earlier Friday that Mahumapelo is fighting to maintain his position and he would have accused certain members of driving him out.

Magashule painted a different image.

"In the tradition of the ANC and as a disciplined member of the movement, the former president of North West Province, Comrade Supra Mahumapelo, took part in the discussion and fully accepted the outcome," Magashule said.

Mahumapelo & # 39; still has a role to play & # 39;

Magashule said the NEC agreed that maximum attention should now be paid to election work, in the province and throughout the country.

When asked if Mahumapelo would be part of the team, Magashule repeated that it would be an "inclusive" body and said that Mahumapelo would be "integrated" into the team.

"Mr. Mahumapelo is a disciplined member of the ANC and as a member of the ANC he still has a role to play," said Magashule.

He said that Mahumapelo was one of the leaders the party had invested heavily in.

Thursday's NEC meeting follows the National Commission's visit to the province earlier this month to "stabilize" the party.

Mahumapelo's opponents placed him at the center of the persistent problems that plagued the ANC in the province.

There have been calls from the party to dissolve the provincial executive committee, amidst the fear that the party could question less than 50% in the next year's elections in the province, with Mahumapelo at the helm.
