Local media personality Bonang Matheba reportedly landed in her legal team to take action against the Sunday World newspaper after publishing a story claiming that Matheba was engaged in so-called tax fraud drama & # 39 ;.
On Monday, Matheba & # 39; s representative beat the report as factually incorrect. The Sundays world held a cover story on August 26, claiming that Matheba was summoned to appear in the Johannesburg Specialized Commercial Crime Court last Monday.
The claims were refuted by both the Matheba PR team and the National Public Prosecutor (NPA).
PR Manager of Matheba, David Phillips, told Channel24 that the article contained "factual errors" and that Matheba "had never been called to appear and never appeared on charges of tax evasion".
Matheba is now reportedly R10 million in compensation from the newspaper.
Meanwhile, NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said that there is no official case of tax fraud on the role against the star "Being Bonang".
"The case was not registered pending further investigation," Mjonondwane said.
