Boy, 10, among the three killed in Bergville armed robbery



Durban – Bergville police is looking for a gang of heavily armed men robbing a local store of money before they kill three people, one of them a ten-year-old boy.

Reports circulated on Monday evening about the incident that took place in the Bergville Central Business District at Ladysmith.

It is claimed that the men arrived in two vehicles, a VW Polo and a Ford Ranger. The men, some wore balaclavas, wore assault rifles.

The men allegedly kept the owner of the shop, a Chinese citizen, at gunpoint. They plundered the shop's cash register and grabbed a secret amount of money. During the robbery, the men fired shots in which three people were fatally injured. The boy still wore his school uniform at the time of the shooting.

The men fled to R74, Harrismith.

Shortly after reports the attack spread on social media, a video clip popped up with the alleged robbers. No official police comment has yet been released.
