Johannesburg – Joburg police have launched a manhunt for two suspects after a shooting in Claremont, where one person was left dead and another injured.
The incident happened to be reported on Sunday evening around 11:00 in Rose Street.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that paramedics have come to the scene to see that the local authorities are already there.
"On closer inspection, paramedics found the man's body in the middle of the plot.
"Paramedics judged the man and discovered that he had contracted numerous gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life, but unfortunately nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead."
Gauteng police spokesman Captain Kay Makhubele confirmed the incident and added that another person was injured after the suspects opened fire on a group of five.
He added that no arrests had been made and that the motive of the shooting was unknown at this stage.
