Escaped Limpopo prisoner caught, search continues for second escaped



Johannesburg – One of the two awaiting trial prisoners, who escaped while being transported in a state-owned vehicle in Limpopo, was arrested on Friday.

Police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said Peter "Little" Moyo was arrested again at Ga-Mushi village, outside of Lephalale on Friday night.

Moyo and fellow Zimbabwean National Witness Simango were arrested for murder and home robberies. They cut open the roof of the moving police truck, jumped out and disappeared earlier in the bushes on Friday. Police transported the prisoners from Lephalale to Polokwane when the incident occurred.

Moyo is accused of murder, burglary and theft. He was confirmed to have entered South Africa illegally. Simango was linked to a series of house robberies and burglaries in Lephalale and the surrounding areas.
