The police traced a firearm on Friday afternoon at the site of a murder of a robbery in Rosebank, Johannesburg, to see if it was used in other crimes.
In the incident, caught in front of the camera, a man on Baker Street was arrested by four men robbing him of his watch.
"Security guards saw what happened," said police spokesman Colonel Lungelo Dlamini. "When they reacted, they were shot at, one guard died. & # 39;
One of the four robbers was injured in the exchange of gunshots.
"Another suspect could drag him into a car," Dlamini said, adding that all men escaped but left a firearm.
"We will follow all procedures, including ballistic testing, to determine if the weapon was used in other crimes," Dlamini said.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
