JOHANNESBURG – South Africans must brace themselves for more food walks if the edge continues to fall.
A study conducted by the Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP) reveals that a family of four can expect to pay about R3,000 for 29 of the cheapest food products.
BFAP food specialist Marlene Louw says: "Our sparse basket consists of 29 food products, including cornmeal, brown bread, ground beef and pieces of chicken.If you are a family of four, you will pay more than R2.750 for that food basket."
