| Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga talks to Bongani Bingwa about his plans for Gauteng if he were to become the next prime minister.
JOHANNESBURG – The Democratic Alliance has expressed confidence in the leadership qualities of Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga after announcing him as the party's candidate for the premier of Gauteng prior to next year's general election.
Msimanga's selection as the Gauteng candidate of the official opposition comes after interviews with a selection panel almost a month ago.
Speak to Bongani Bingwa at 702's Breakfast show, Msimanga says he will not leave his post as mayor of Tshwane because he has a lot to do before he leaves the office.
He says his focus is on fighting corruption and helping to speed up the service in the province that is plagued by a series of protests.
