Durban – A 52-year-old man was convicted of life last year after brutally murdering a student from the University of Zululand.
The murderer, Bhekuyise Mngoma, was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Supreme Court of Mthunzini and gave another five years for the kidnapping of student Lethukuthula Ngobese, 21.
Ngobese, who was a third-year law student, was missing in July last year when her disbanded body was found in a hut with several stab wounds in September last year. Neighbors had warned the police of a smell coming from the hut where the student was killed by Mngoma.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Zwane said that Mngoma was the owner of the cabin.
