DURBAN – A trial date for the case against KwaZulu-Natal African National Congress (ANC) Vice-President Mike Mabuyakhulu will not be set until the state responds to requests for details.

Mabuyakhulu is faced with six allegations of fraud, corruption, money laundering and theft in connection with the North Sea Jazz Festival 2012, which never took place.

He is accused of facilitating illegal payments during his tenure as economic development MEC and stealing R300,000.

He appeared in the commercial practice court earlier on Wednesday.

National spokeswoman Natasha Karra, spokeswoman KZN, said: "During the last adjournment, which took place in April, the case was adjourned because of a request for private data.Today the magistrate has given an order that all legal representatives of the accused are expected to arrive before 16 October. submit their request for further details. "
