Mrs. Zondeni Veronica Sobukwe is remembered and celebrated today by her beloved children, family, friends, co-workers and fighters for fellow fight.
She has been described by her children as a "rock and pillar".
Her husband, Robert Sobukwe, founded the Pan-African Congress in 1959 and remained his solid support system during the fight to fight for a fair and just South Africa.
President Ramaphosa honored Ms. Sobukwe last week "for her tenacious struggle for freedom and her steadfast support for imprisoned freedom fighters".
Mama Sobukwe will be put on the side of her husband on Saturday, August 25, to rest.
