St Kilda’s Nick Hind has requested a trade with Essendon, but no deal has yet been closed with just over two hours remaining from the trading period.
The 26-year-old, who played 10 games for the Saints this year, has been targeted by the Bombers as they wanted to add extra speed to their side following Adam Saad’s departure to Carlton.
Saints Chief Operating Officer Simon Lethlean confirmed Hind’s wish to be in Tullamarine before Thursday night’s trade deadline, but said no deal has yet been reached.
“That is certainly his request (to be traded) and it is Essendon’s wish (to pick him up),” he said. AFL Trade Radio.
“We have not been able to find a transaction that both parties can commit to at the moment.
“But three hours can be quite long at the end of the trading period, so we’ll see what comes out.”
AFL Media’s Callum Twomey later reported that Essendon is not the only club interested in the speedster.
