Hold the hotel TV

Lyndon Terracini gritted his teeth on the stage like a baritone, but over the past nine years he has overseen Australia's largest stage productions.

As Opera AusTralia's artistic director, he travels to checking productions that operate nationwide, alongside regular world travelers who are looking for the best on the international stage.

w With an annual itinerary in which he attracted an average of 10 countries (his next trip alone in London, Berlin, Vienna, Milan, New York and Beijing), the seasoned traveler has become a skilled packer.

MY PACKAGING STYLE IS …

Nicely organized and minimalistic. I have done my packaging the day before I leave, so it is a fairly stress-free process that is on its way to the airport. I pack just enough clothes for a week, no matter how long I've been away, and turn those items around. That is why they invented washing machines!

I MAKE A HOTEL ROOM FEEL LIKE HOUSE BY …

Leave the TV on for background noise, both during the day and during the night. I do not do this when I am home, but when I am away, it helps to make a hotel feel more like home. I need the sound to be able to sleep well.

I pack for a trip to …

Knowing which season it is at my destination. I do not look too closely at the weather forecast, and do not take four seasons a day.

ESSENTIALS FOR A WORK TRIP …

A suit, a handful of shirts and a few ties. When I go to a place like New York in January, I can surrender and take a hat for extra warmth.

MY LUGGAGE IS …

The largest hand baggage bag that fits into the luggage compartment, plus a Samsonite case with small wheels. I do not try to check in baggage, not even for international travel, because I usually do not have enough time to wait for it.

FIRST THING PRO FLYER GOES AFTER TAKE-OFF

MY OUTFIT IF I TRAVEL …

Usually a sweater, jeans and slip-on shoes. When I have a long time, I go to a comfortable pajama on the plane to get the best possible night's sleep.

MY TOP CARRY-ON TIP IS …

Pack as much as possible in one bag so that you can step straight out of the plane and go where you need to go.

I NEVER BOARD WITHOUT …

A sleep mask. I sleep through everything – I could probably sleep upright – so I do not need headphones with noise reduction. But a sleep mask to block visual distractions is useful. I actually tend to sleep more on flights than in my own home.

THE BOARDING GATE I ALWAYS BREAK

MY TOP PACKAGE HACK …

Put everything in a bag and then turn around until the zippers close! It has not failed me yet!

WASH BAG STAPLES INCLUDE …

Shaving cream, razor, toothpaste, toothbrush and deodorant.

LARGEST PACKAGING ERROR …

Generally too much. It is always at the top of my list with "don & # 39; ts".

MY GO TO TRAVEL APP IS …

My assistant assistant, Ange, who makes sure that I can come wherever I have to go, in the same way that other people rely on apps for that kind of thing.

AWKWARD UPGRADE TRUTH NOBODY NOTIFICATIONS

I used the package …

Swimsuits, but I never went to the hotel pool – even if I was planning.

MY PACKAGING RESOLUTION IS …

To streamline my minimal style even more so that I can pack even less.
