Actress and producer Hilary Swank is married to her business partner in a fairytale wooded area in California. Swank, 44 years old, with her partner, Philip Schneider, in the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, California, surrounded by 20,000 hectares of land with towering sequoia trees.
For the ceremony, Swank wore a floaty lace Elie Saab Couture wedding dress that required seven people 150 hours to make. "I have loved Elie Saab for years and was very happy to be able to design my dress," Swank said Fashion US, in combination with Christian Louboutin shoes. "I wanted something romantic that was as timeless as the Redwood forest where we would marry, and he delivered that – designing something that far exceeded my greatest expectations – it was everything I had imagined and much more."
The bride told it Fashion she chose to get married in California, close to their home, so Swank's father could take her down the aisle – he can not travel because of a lung transplant. During the ceremony, Swans's best friend and maid of honor, fellow actress Mariska Hargitay, was at her side. Other celebrities present were actor Misha Collins, the best man of the groom.
Later Swank changed into a Maria Grazia Chiuri for Christian Dior dress for her wedding reception in a rustic barn. At the reception the couple performed a surprise song for their guests, to the dance floor with a Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers-like tap dance set to In My Heart by Moby.
Swank and Schneider had a blind date and a year and a half later they became engaged during their holiday in Colorado in 2016.
"It was timeless, there's just no other way to describe it," Swank said of her wedding. "I was overwhelmed with so much gratitude and thanks for marrying the man of my dreams and seeing all the people we love in the midst of such a deep environment, it was a dream come true."
