Dust is blowing over Brisbane

BRISBANE was awakened this morning by a cloud of dust hanging over the city, while the first days of spring are warm, windy conditions.

A trough was pulled in from the west during the night and brought a cloud of dust to the southeast corner.

Adam Woods of the Office of Meteorology said that things should disappear later on Saturday.

"The dust should settle down during the day if the wind breaks down," he said.

It comes as Brisbane woke up this morning with a warm minimum of only 17.8C, where fire brigade is on high alert.

Queensland residents are called to be smart today, because windy and dry conditions can cause fires to spread uncontrollably.

Brisbane is today at the top of the 28C with 20 to 30 km / hour westerly winds.

Mr Woods said the sunny conditions could make way for a wet start of the week.

"There are a few showers that are about to indicate a wet start to the first week of spring," he said.

"We expect Tuesday 10 to 20 mm of rain in Brisbane Tuesday."

Showers are likely to last a large part of the week and may fall into areas in the far west of the Roma
