IF there is someone who can judge the real fighting power of the former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, is the Olympic wrestling gold medalist Kurt Angle.
Angle, a WWE legend, laid the trail for athletes who switched to professional wrestling. He opened the door for Lesnar and, most recently, Ronda Rousey, to enter the sport, thanks to his move to the WWE after winning gold at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
Lesnar, the WWE Universal champion, is expected to challenge two UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in the Octagon in the coming months.
While the beast is an underdog against Cormier, Angle said he has seen that Lesnar is performing performances that are almost impossible to fathom. [Hoek] shows that the WWE star is no match for any man – man-action of the 2.13m, then 231kg-wrestling icon Big Show.
"Brock Lesnar crossed him with two legs and threw him on his back," said Angle. "I could not even lift him up (Big Show), I could not believe it, I had something like," Holy s ***. & # 39;
& # 39; In reality they shot in the ring and Big Show was 140 pounds heavier than it is now, I was in shock.
"Brock is an animal. The only thing Brock brings back to him is sometimes his mind. Other than that, no one can beat him.
"He had three losses (in the UFC) I understand that he had diverticulitis with two of the losses It is hard to believe anyone on this planet can beat Brock Lesnar He is an animal."
Lesnar was a former NCAA heavyweight freestyle wrestling champion in his student days, before turning to the bright lights of the WWE.
From there, Lesnar made a surprising switch to the UFC and became a heavyweight champion after only a handful of fights.
The professional wrestling champion is now looking to do it again, this time against Cormier.
Having shocked the world before, Angle would not be surprised if Lesnar does it again. "I think he has a good chance," Angle said. "I have a lot of respect for both boys, they were both amateur wrestlers, I think the size of Brock Cormier will be a problem, I think Brock's athletics will be a factor.
" I have been with Brock before shot in the ring, when we really started it, we really went through with it. He is so fast and explosive that there are not many people who can deal with him. "
Much criticism of Lesnar's current deal with the Vince McMahon-led promotion that sees him offside most of the year despite being WWE Universal champion
But Angle said Lesnar is so unique that he can do what he wants.
