The new Fortnite 5.3 update means server downtime
It has now been confirmed that tomorrow, August 23, will be downtime.
This is to make way for the Fortnite 5.3 update, probably a big patch on all platforms.
Epic Games have not provided a full list of what will be included in the new patch, but they have confirmed that a new item will be released.
Bullyed in this week's Fortnite & # 39; new updates & # 39; screen, Epic Games has announced a new tool for changing games.
The Rift-To-Go item was officially unveiled earlier this week and has a tag reading "coming soon".
This slot is reserved for items that are released in the next update, so you can expect this handy tool to be part of the 5.3 patch.
And today the development team confirmed more about the details of the new update, including the required downtime.
The bad news is that this new update requires scheduled server maintenance.
Fortnite players are warned that the downtime starts at 9.00 am BST and means that the game goes offline.
It should also be noted that players usually start live games about 20 minutes before maintenance starts.
So be prepared for some inconvenience when you're playing around that time.
Downtime usually lasts a few hours, so fans can expect Fortnite to be unavailable until around 11 am BST.
The good news is that Epic Games usually release patch notes during scheduled maintenance, so fans need to know everything about what's added to the game before they become part of servers again.
There is a lot of hope for a new series of bug fixes for both the Battle Royale mode and Save the World, which has to deal with serious technical failures.
"Shake it with a new item coming to Battle Royale in Patch v5.30," says Epic Games.
"Downtime starts tomorrow, August 23 at 4 AM ET (0800 GMT)."
Epic Games have also warned that tomorrow will also be the last day of the Sniper Shootout LTM.
It has not been announced whether something else will take place or whether fans have to wait until next week for a new limited time mode.

It also looks like there will be some changes for the Pump Shotgun, which have seen a number of buffs and veins in recent months.
Design Lead Eric Williamson pointed out on Twitter that there were plans for the weapon, tweetend: "With regard to shotgun equipment times: the current thinking is to postpone the Pump Shotgun time in update 5.30 next week.
"Other hunting guns will remain unchanged for the time being."
Other changes will also be included, with some new bug fixes that have already been primed.
Fans can also expect many new skins to be revealed by data miners, as this is usually the time when new outfits are added to the game.
These are probably skins that are sold in the item store and are not part of the current fight pass.
New items such as the Rift-to-go will make their debut tomorrow
The only exception to this is the new Road Trip skin, which is likely to be released by Epic Games next week.
There are also rumors that at some point a new LTM will be released with the name 'Velocity & # 39 ;.
Not much is known about this new mode, but it seems that players can re-use Floaters if they fall from a great height.
It is also expected that additional Impulse Grenades, Bounce Pads and ATKs will be generated on the entire map.
The biggest change in the gameplay will be that the storm will reportedly go twice as fast, which makes for even faster encounters.
Recent reports have also suggested that the development team is ready to remove the in-game gaps that currently occur in Fortnite Battle Royale.
However, newly leaked information suggests that Epic Games might have even bigger plans for them in season 5.
After having played an important role in the closing of season 4 and the opening of season 5, it is expected that the gaps will close this week.
In the meantime, this theory has been contradicted by another, which states that the gaps will not close to perform a final major event.
The new rumor is that the gap will eventually take the map back in time, influencing important landmarks on the map.
It looks a lot like rumors that are shared during season 4 and are not the ones that are supported by a lot of evidence.
So they have to be taken with a big pinch of salt, until we know more about what Epic Games has planned.
According to the online leak, this big season 5 event next week will take place on all platforms.
