BMW has unveiled the new Z4 M40i First Edition at the Concours d & # 39; Elegance in Pebble Beach, California.
This comes a year after the Concept Z4 was presented at the car show a year earlier.
The next generation of the two-seat sports car can be seen in the trim of the first edition, but gives customers insight into the design of the vehicle.
It looks sportier, more aggressive and more dynamic than the previous Z4 with the mesh kidney grille, low bonnet, large air intakes and shining headlights.
The car looks disappointingly less dramatic and impressive, as the concept vehicle did, but it is nevertheless a beautiful roadster – especially in the metallic Frozen Orange paintwork.
Driving the car is the M40i is a powerful 340 hp six-cylinder engine with which it can sprint in 4.6 seconds from 0-62 mph.
It is also equipped with sports suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M Sport Braking System and an electronically controlled M Sport differential in the rear axle transmission.
BMW says that the dynamic driving experience of the car is achieved by combining the central seating position for the driver, the low center of gravity, perfectly balanced 50:50 axle load distribution, wide tracks and a compact wheelbase.
The car manufacturer also claims that the First Edition version of the car offers specific design and equipment features that add exclusive touches to the sporty flair of the car.
For example, the metallic paintwork of Frozen Orange is combined with shiny black elements and a soft top in anthracite with silver effect.
In the car BMW says that the interior design is also focused on the sportiness of the car.
Trimming supplied in the First Edition car includes Vernasca black leather upholstery, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, the option ambient light and the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System.
It also comes with Adaptive LED headlights with matrix function, Head-Up display, and the BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
More variants of the car will start on September 19, 2018, where the different engine options, trim, and Equipment level & # 39; s will also be announced.
The prices for the assortment will probably also be announced on that date.
