WASHINGTON (APA / Reuters) – American software giant Adobe has boosted sales and sales with strong demand for cloud services. Turnover rose by 24 percent in the third quarter to 2.3 billion dollars (1.98 billion euros), the company announced Thursday after closing of the market. Profit rose 59 percent to $ 666.3 million. The numbers were better than expected by analysts.
Especially the Creative Cloud offer, which includes the popular Photoshop software Photoshop, was well received by the customers. The Group has changed its business model from license sales to web subscriptions, resulting in more consistent and predictable revenues.
In the trade after closing time, Adobe shares fell by 1.6 percent. The shares have so far won 53 percent this year.
According to insiders, Adobe is currently negotiating a takeover with Marketo for cloud marketing. The acquisition of the business-to-business marketing specialist would help Adobe expand its cloud offering and make it more competitive with Microsoft and Oracle.
