Mexico City / Amsterdam (APA / Reuters) – According to authorities, Fiat Chrysler has recalled more than 122,000 vehicles in Mexico due to possible electronic problems. Moreover, the Mexican subsidiary Volkswagen had ordered a small number of 2018 Golf R vehicles in the workshops because of a possible problem with the head restraints, said the Consumer Protection Authority Profeco Thursday.
Both companies offered free inspections of the affected cars. Earlier, the German press agency reported that Fiat Chrysler calls nearly 210,000 cars worldwide due to brake problems, most in the US. In Canada, 19,000 cars are affected, about 900 in Mexico and about 35,500 outside North America. Car owners should be informed shortly, it said.
