The Zwettler Philipp Bachl confidently won the 32nd edition of the Sparkassen-Sternsteinlauf. After Philipp Bachl, who started for SU-Raika Zwettl, several times in the first three of the general classification of the Sternstein mountain race of recent years, he achieved this year the big nest with his victory in the Bad Leonfeldner Hausberg . After an intensive preparation he checked the pace in the main group from the beginning. He was able to respond excellently to the attacks of his opponents. Finally Bachl had the upper hand with a time of 27:59 minutes for Alois Redl of ASK Mc-Donalds-Loos (28:21) and the local hero of Bad Leonfeld, Stefan Panholzer (28:42).
