Tree broken down in high ropes course – 2 wounded – Styria

A climbing trip ended for two visitors to an adventure park in the hospital. At 2 pm a 33-year-old man from the district Deutschlandsberg and a 27-year-old girl from Graz were on a platform for the beginners course in the high rope course in Gröbming (district Liezen).

Suddenly a tree was broken down on that platform at a height of 2.20 meters, causing both Styrians to crash and injure themselves. Three other friends of the wounded were on the same course in the neighborhood, but they remained intact.

The 33-year-old suffered minor injuries, the 27-year-old injured his left ankle. Both were first given medical care by the participating climbing park staff and then taken to the Schladming hospital. In the meantime they could be released again in household care.

Research arranged

The Public Prosecution Service Leoben ordered a lock from the high rope until the assessment by an expert. This should clarify how it could come to this unusual break of the tree.

As the "Kleine Zeitung" reported, only a job had to be closed. The adventure park is therefore normally open.
