The police accompanied hundreds of Slovakians on foot to the stadium. It was about attacks on civil servants, fireworks were lit. The police then used pepper spray, two officials were injured. Three tram lines had to be stopped. Finally, the rioters who missed the 0-4 debacle of their team against Rapid plundered a petrol station on Linzer Strasse and steel objects of several hundred euros. It remained calm in and around the stadium.

According to city police commander Karl Pogutter, after the European Cup-match between LASK and Besiktas Istanbul (2-1) in Linz, there were occasional battles. A wounded LASK fan had to be taken away from the rescue to the hospital.
