Google is apparently working on a new Chromecast – and it can not only deliver a better picture, but also completely new features. With the simple and compact form everything will probably remain the same.
Originally, the new Chromecast model appeared in the 2018 database in the FCC. In the meantime, the device has apparently been revised and tested again. As a 9to5Google report, the WLAN antenna has been improved. Another special feature compared to the available Chromecast models is the support for Bluetooth connections.
For project "Yeti"?
Why Google provides the streaming dongle with Bluetooth is the exciting question, because there are many ways to use. For example, it would be conceivable to use a remote control, as Amazon attaches to its Fire TV. But it is also possible that the radio connection is only used to transfer music from the smartphone to the Chromecast and finally to the television.
Probably the most exciting explanation would certainly be project "Yeti". Under this code name, Google should work on its own games streaming service. The new Chromecast can serve as a receiver on the TV. For the controller, however, a controller is needed that can best be connected via Bluetooth. When Google releases the secret, it is not certain. An idea together with the Pixel 3, the Pixel 3 XL and a Pixel Smartwatch in the beginning of October would be conceivable.
