Huawei Mate 20 pro – quadratic triple lens camera seems to have been confirmed.





In the run there are some leaks to the Huawei * Mate 20 pro published, but often not taken seriously, because the design of the camera with the 4 square cutouts (3 lenses and a flash) seemed too strange. Meanwhile there are more and more sources and leaks and therefore one can assume that Huawei * will probably choose this form of arrangement with the camera at the next Mate 20 per. There are also more photos on which the models are reported to be at the IFA but not officially on the Huawei * stand but in the hands of visitors. In particular, the Huawei Mate 20 pro will appear with a square box on the back, which contains the camera technology and, of course, the 3 lenses.

Unfortunately, there are no official details yet, which camera technology will block Huawei. It is quite possible that the same configuration as the Huawei P20 * pro is used and only the placement of the lenses has been changed. On the other hand, Huawei has already confirmed that Mate 20 is already using the new Kirin 980 processor. This comes with two NPU cores for the automatic image optimization and therefore the recordings and their quality will probably change in each case. Therefore, it would also be perfectly conceivable that Huawei has again made changes to camera technology – but that is not certain. However, it is clear that the Mate 20 Pro camera has been re-created in collaboration with Leica. The big letters next to the camera on the famous Leaks make this more than clear.

The new features of the Kirin 980 processor at a glance

  • By producing in a 7-nanometer process, the processor is much more powerful and consumes less power. Huawei says the 980 should bring 75 percent more power into the CPU compared to the previous year's version, while it also works 60 percent more efficiently. It remains to be seen how these values ​​will actually be reflected in the performance tests.
  • The processor now has three clusters, each available for a variety of tasks. For normal use there are 4 low-end cores with 1.8 GHz that can perform the normal tasks very energy-efficient. In addition, there are two new high-end cores with a maximum of 1.92 GHz for tasks requiring more power, and two other high-end cores with a maximum output of 2.6 GHz are responsible for peak performance. In general, the Kirin 980 is delivered with 8 cores, but these are distributed differently than in the predecessor.
  • In the field of mobile data transmission, the processor supports LTE CAT 21 and can therefore transmit data up to 1.4 Gbit / s (1400Mbit / s) quickly. This makes the chipset the fastest processor on the market in this area.
  • The number of NPUs has increased further in the Kirin 980 processor and the chipset now offers two cores for processing artificial-intelligence tasks. This should double the speed of image recognition and the AI ​​tasks are therefore performed even faster. Unfortunately, there are still no indications as to whether these two NPUs also support new functions, the automatic optimization of the recordings should in any case be considerably better.
