The morning this Sunday was agitated in Lessines where a man was entrenched in his house. The madman threatened to blow up his house. The special forces were deployed and the neighborhood was shut down.
"A madman wants to blow up his house in Lessines Quartier Saint-Roch, police and special units on the spot", reported a riverbank this Sunday morning via our orange button Warn us. "Great police involvement in Lessines for a person locked up at home and threat of explosion of the house", on condition that there is another alert.
In the middle of the morning the mayor of Lessines confirmed that to us "special services operation" went on in his congregation. Pascal de Handschutter explained that "the minimum security measures have been taken". The neighborhood was therefore disposed of. "It's like you're in a crime movie", a witness entrusted.
According to our information, the person in question is a man in his forties. "This morning around 6 o'clock, he came to the house of his ex-girlfriend, he was visibly drunk and aggressive, armed with a knife that he threatened." tells our journalist Amélie Schildt, live in RTL INFO 13H.
The ex-companion then took refuge at the neighbor's house. And the individual entrenched himself at home. "This information has not yet been confirmed but this man has been in prison", says Amélie Schildt.
Police and special forces were deployed on the spot. The intervention lasted a few hours. The man escaped from behind the house. It has not been found yet. The device could be lifted around 13.00 hours.
