The police are present on Monday morning at the construction site of the future Haren prison and will go to the evacuation of this site, according to the collective "Keelbeek Libre", in contrast to the federal project.
According to the collective, approximately twenty police officers are present this Monday morning to evacuate the site "Destroy the cabins" installed by the opponents. At the time of writing, the police could not be reached.
The opposition to the mega-prison project in Haren has been resumed in the last weeks after the announcement of the Buildings Agency at the beginning of the site towards the end of the summer. The work should then continue until 2022.

The new complex, which will extend over an area of 15 hectares, is to replace the dilapidated and overcrowded prisons of Saint-Gilles, Forest and Berkendael. It will consist of two male prisons, a mansion, a closed women's center, an open center for women, an observation center, a psychiatric ward and a medical center.
This "prison village" offers a total of 1,190 prisoners. The work was entrusted to the CAFASSO consortium, consisting of Denys, FCC Construcción and Macquarie Capital.
