The positions of Apple and Google with regard to the collection and use of personal data of users are very different. The second, which makes the most of its turnover in the advertising market, is hungry for data to generate revenue. And this is reflected in the results of a recent study on the subject.

Digital Content Next (DCN), a non-profit organization specializing in research and studies that represents more than 70 US media channels, published research results that Android would collect almost ten times more personal data than iOS. Moreover, Android smartphones would connect an average of ten times more often to Google's servers than those from iOS to Apple's servers.

According to him, the tools that Google uses as part of its advertising ecosystem are the most intrusive. It states that, although some data are anonymous on paper, "Google may actually associate this anonymised data with valid personal informationMost data is collected while the user does not have direct access to a Google site or service.
