"The Walking Dead" on Sunday (25) showed the last episode of the year, "Evolution", ending in the first half of his ninth season. The series, which only says goodbye to Carl (Chandler Riggs), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan), says goodbye to another character: Jesus (Tom Payne), the reluctant leader of Hilltop. In short, the production was still introducing the Whispers officially, proving that the mysterious talking zombies were actually disguised people.
On another front, an exciting and busy episode, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) escaped – which is probably not a good thing for the future of the inhabitants of Alexandria. But let's go in parts.
The farewell of Jesus
The beginning of the end of Jesus was the mission to save Eugene (Josh McDermitt), still imprisoned in the barn where he was left behind by Rosita (Christian Serratos). Accompanied by Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), he was able to find the scientist, but the group was faced with a major setback: a zombie horde that did not behave exactly as expected.
Daryl's efforts to ward off the package proved useless because they followed the direction they wanted. Jesus, Aaron and Eugene were then stuck in a graveyard – one of the best scenarios that the series has ever brought for the battles of their characters with the dead.
Michonne (Danai Gurira), Magna (Nadia Hilker) and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) came forward – almost falling from the sky – to help, and Jesus stayed behind to try to postpone the zombies while they all escaped. In a well-choreographed series the leader of the hilltop defeated several with his sword, but was eventually surprised by an alleged undead. He was seized and stung by the being who whispered in his ear: "You are in a place you do not belong." It was a shivering scene that would not make it ugly in a horror movie.
The rest of the group returned to the battle in shock, with the addition of Daryl, who had just returned. They discovered the whisper trick when they saw that one of the dead undead was in fact a person disguised as a mask. At the end of the episode they were again surrounded by a band that whispered things like "do not let them get away", in an exciting hook for the next series of episodes.
The new villains of the series will become more famous in 2019. Their leader, Alpha, will be interpreted by the actress Samantha Morton.
After years of being imprisoned in his cell in Alexandria, Negan managed to escape through a mistake by Gabriel (Seth Gillam), who, worried after discovering that Rosita had been injured, had left the villain's cell unblocked. Will Negan try to terrorize those who have arrested him? It is the mystery.
The episode still explored a bit more of the crack that has erupted between communities since Rick's death. Michonne, who led Magna and her group to Hilltop, met unexpectedly with Carol (Melissa McBride) and a brief but important dialogue between the two hinted that Michonne had to close Alexandria to the world by something else – it was not this But we discovered What happened.
In the absence of Judith Grimes, Henry (Macsen Lintz) was the highlight of the young cast of "Walking Dead". When he went to Hilltop by Carol to learn a blacksmith, the boy had a typical teenage experience: he was disappointed when he heard that Enid had a boyfriend, tried to make new friends, broke rules, left the boundaries of the community, got drunk and even killed a zombie He ended up in jail because of drunkenness and disorderly behavior. Give up.
