Beneficiaries with accounts with private banks can receive automatic credit – the government of Brazil

Via a Agreement between the Ministry of Planning and the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban), customers of private banks, PIS / Pasep Fund certificate holders, can receive the loan automatically. Currently, only beneficiaries who have an account with Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) and in Banco do Brasil (BB) receive direct deposits into the account without having to go to the bank.

The measure is expected to be signed next week. For security reasons, institutions must screen their account holders and only the identified accounts, which have a positive balance and have been moved in the last six months, can receive the automatic deposit.

Who has the right

All employees in the private sector or public service who, between 1971 and PIS / Pasep, formed a formal contract until 1988 and have not yet withdrawn the total quota, are entitled to the benefit. Previously, the withdrawal could only take place if the employee had reached the age of 70, retired, had a serious illness or disability or was heir of the account holder.

Until September 28 this year all quota holders are entitled to withdrawals. There are 15.6 million people who can withdraw, with funds that amount to R $ 28.4 billion. To join the banks, cThose who have not yet taken credit automatically must request a BB or CEF office to redeem the benefit. Customers with the outdated register next to the bank also need to pay attention to regularizing and withdrawing credit.
