The dollar surpassed the threshold of R $ 4.10, which closed the trading session today (23) with an increase of 1.65%, quoted at R $ 4.1230 in sales. The price of the US currency reached its highest level since January 21, 2016, when it hit R $ 4.1165. The increase today represents the seventh consecutive trading session of the currency, which accumulated an increase of 6.44% over the period.
The Central Bank will continue without extraordinary auctions of future dollar sales, the so-called currency swaps, to increase the liquidity of the currency and reduce the valuation.
The B3 index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange, Ibovespa, ended the day at 1.65% with 75.633 points. The negative result reversed yesterday's trend (22) when the Ibovespa closed 2.29%.
The trading session ended with the shares of large companies, the so-called blue chip shares, which fell, while Petrobras lost 2.18% and Itau 3.89%.
