The sale of property in the country increased by 17.3% in the second quarter of this year, compared with the previous quarter. Compared with the same quarter of 2017, there was an increase of 32.1%.

A positive result for the sector was the reduction of inventories in the past three years. In December 2016, considered the "bottom of the pit" for the commercialization of real estate, the stock was 21 months. A year later it fell back to 17 months. "The sale is bigger than the launches, which have increased a lot but are not enough to replace the sold ones," said Juan Carlos Martins, president of CBIC.

"The shares are well balanced, there is no product or demand, there is a lack of business confidence and creditworthiness", says Celso Petrucci, chairman of the real estate committee of CBIC.

FGTS

The use of funds from the Guarantee Fund of the Time of Service (FGTS) is worried, according to Jose Carlos Martins.

For him there was a "large amount of resources" in recent years due to the withdrawal of inactive accounts and the reform of the labor legislation, making possible termination of contract.

In the first half of the year, 40% of sales in the city of São Paulo were owned by the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program.

Petrucci emphasized the high demand for housing for the first house in Brazil and said he does not believe in any change or suspension of the program by candidates for the presidency of the republic. "The program is a government policy, I do not see any conditions to recommend shortening," he said.

"It is very difficult to hear a company since 2009 [do Minha Casa, Minha Vida] what did not work, "he said." This reinforces the importance of the program, it is important that it has no discontinuity, "he added.

The projection of CBIC for the year so far, compared to 2017, is a growth of 5 to 10% at launches and a sales increase of 10 to 20%.
