An employee with a formal agreement who wishes to leave for a career as a self-employed person must double the amount for his own account in order to maintain the same salary and benefits as when he was a lawyer.
A collector who earns R $ 5,148.66 per month must invoice as a freelancer, for example R $ 10,519.76 (more information in the table).
The projections were made, at the request of Folha, by Silvia Franco, a financial planner certified by Planejar (trade association).
In a recent Datafolha survey, half of the respondents said they preferred independent, higher salaries and fewer taxes, albeit without benefits, to pay for a job with registration.
Those who responded wanted to work as salaried employees with a portfolio of 43% in total. Another 7% did not think so.
The economic crisis in Brazil, which produced 12.7 million unemployed, drove many employees from the formal market.
The quota of self-employed, for example, increased from 22.2 million in the quarter and ended in August 2016 to 23.3 million in the same quarter of this year.
By the force of circumstances or by desire, the most common mistake among those who migrate from the CLT to the autonomous regime is to deceive themselves with higher gross profits.
"You think you can be more free, which is an advantage, but do not think you might have to work harder, because when you realize how much you have to earn, you forget to take benefits," says Franco.
"They are not even noticed daily, but they make a difference, especially for those who earn less," he says.
The most important "extra costs" of the autonomous is usually with a health insurance.
Companies are not legally obliged to offer the benefit, unless it is a CAO clause of the category. But once the plan is offered, it can not be cut down, because it becomes an acquired right.
"Many also forget that they will no longer contribute to the FGTS [Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço], 13th salary and a profit of a third of the holidays ", says Franco.
The person who makes a planned transition to life without an employer must first study the market in which he intends to participate.
According to Kleber Guerche, a Sebrae SP consultant, it is customary to choose the autonomous niches based on what they think is right when they are registered.
"The CLT employee is operational and identifies himself as being qualified in that specific activity, but a company requires the vision of many other areas," he says.
In order not to fall into fads, it is necessary to work out a business plan, Guerche explains.
This means that you must state the paper details, such as the type of company you want to work in, how much capital you have, how you sell, whether you need employees, whether you are looking for formalization such as MEI (individual micro entrepreneur) or micro-enterprise act as an autonomous informal.
In addition, you should check who your competitors are, what margin you can work with and make an estimate when you need to start with a net profit in business.
The less risky segments are those with lower operating costs, says Guerche.
"If I am the company myself and I do not have rental and rental costs, I become a service provider." The chance to train is bigger with a minimal investment, "he says.
"But even in these cases you have to determine if there is a demand," he says.
Experts also recommend that the self-employed person has a reserve that pays six to twelve months at fixed costs, such as rent, water, energy and their own salary.
It is also necessary to create an account to plan the holidays, which are not reimbursed, and the retirement, because there will be no direct debit to the INSS.
"The autonomous employee can continue to contribute, but regardless of whether it is a CLT or a personal account, it should already have an investment strategy to save for retirement because INSS has a ceiling," says Franco.
Financial planner Annalisa Blando Dal Zotto from Par Mais, a financial investment company, says that informal employees must also try to control finances and not to make debts.
This is essential so that those who have a credit limit and a good relationship with the bank can follow the line and take it if necessary.
