More than half of the deaths occurred in Campo Grande, with 15 cases
The number of deaths from flu increased to 27 in Mato Grosso do Sul, confirming the death of another person due to the disease last week in Campo Grande. Epidemiological Bulletin was released by the State Department of Health on Wednesday (22).
The capital of South Mato-Grossense concentrates more than half of the deaths from the disease. From January to today, there were 15 deaths in Campo Grande, four of them due to Influenza A H1N1, seven to Influenza H3N2, three to Influenza B and one to Influenza, not subdued.
In nearly eight months of this year, the number of deaths from the influenza virus is 450% higher than in the whole of 2017, when six deaths from influenza were confirmed.
According to the bulletin, from the death of this year, ten were infected by Influenza A H1N1, ten by H3N2, four were not subtyped by Influenza A and three by Influenza B.
Other victims of the flu are two people in Naviraí, two in Costa Rica, two in Coxim, and one in the municipalities Alcinópolis, Aquidauana, Chapadão do Sul, Dourados, Nioaque and Três Lagoas.
In the year, 839 cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome were reported, of which 139 were confirmed as influenza.
