The city of Arapiraca, via the Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), started Monday the vaccination campaign against dogs and cats against the lyssavirus, the virus that causes rabies.
With the goal of vaccinating about 25,000 animals, the campaign in the Rural Zone started with agents from the Zoonosis Control Center (CCZ), from one place to another, from house to house.
The campaign against rabies is not intended to vaccinate stray dogs or unresponsive dogs. Although many of these stray animals are vaccinated with the placement of the population, although they are not owners, they use them in the same way.
In the urban zone, the campaign culminates on 1 September, Saturday, D-day of vaccination, in the more than 80 vaccination posts across the city.
