Vaccinations against meningitis arrived Tuesday in Taubaté

In the morning of this Wednesday (22), the prefecture of Taubaté distributes another 840 doses of vaccine against meningitis in the city's Basic Health Units. The epidemiological surveillance received the vaccines on the afternoon of this Tuesday (21).
In early August, the city received 400 doses that were exhausted on the 20th. According to the town hall, the received shipment delivers the needs of the municipality.
Meningitis is a disease that causes the membranes in the brain to ignite and can be fatal if not treated properly.
The meningococcal C vaccine (conjugated) is part of the national vaccination calendar and should be applied after 3 and 5 months, with reinforcement after 12 months. Children who have not received this booster can receive a dose of up to 4 years.
