Aston Martin unveiled the brand new DBS Superleggera, the most powerful and fastest supercar ever produced in series by the British manufacturer, which positions itself in the top of the range and tough models known in the segment, such as the Ferrari 812 Superfast. The name "DBS" refers to an iconic model launched by the company in 1967, while the last name "Superleggera" means "superleve", who denounces that the model brings lighter materials in its construction to improve performance.
The engine is the V12 twin-turbo 5.2 liters, with nothing more than 725 hp at 6,500 rpm, and a weight of 91.8 kgfm torque, between 1,800 and 5,000 rpm. It is coupled to the eight-speed automatic ZF shift lever that has been reinforced to handle the extra torque and which offers a lower end ratio and rear wheel drive. According to data from Aston Martin, the new car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 340 km / h. Still among the differences, the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera marked the grille with a larger and more striking shape, a new set of headlights and lanterns with a striking finish, a hood with a more prominent shape, a side with new folds and the absence of the Aston Martin logo on the back – instead there is the name of the brand by extension, something unique in the models of the company.
The set also includes a four-way exhaust system, which delivers an even louder sound, higher than the conventional DB11 at 10 decibels, plus a new front splitter, exclusive rear diffuser, Aeroblade 2 aerofoil rear, 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires , carbon-ceramic brakes with a diameter of 410 mm at the front and 360 mm rear, lower adaptive suspension in 5 mm, torque-vectoring system, mechanical differential, among others.
Aston Martin reports that the new DBS Superleggera generates 60 kg downforce at the front and 120 kg at the rear. The dry weight of the super sport is 1.693 kg. The new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera will be available for 225,000 pounds, or 50,000 pounds more than the DB11 V12 AMR and 38,000 pounds less than the Ferrari 812 Superfast.
