Due to the record heat of the fruit and vegetable harvest, Europe will be the weakest in 40 years. This is reported by the European Fruit Producers Association (PROFEL), quoted by Europulse and BNR.
Farmers in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary and Poland suffered the most from drought.
The heat has hit hard on the pea and legumes where the harvest is expected to be lower than last year with between 20 and 50%, the onion and spinach situation and the cabbage are bad.
According to the association, however, no drastic price increase can be expected, despite the weaker harvest.
