The European club champion Real (Madrid) has worked hard to attract world champion Luka Hernandez from France, Atletico (Madrid), but failed in negotiations with "matuscats", reported France Football.
According to the French magazine, the "kings" were prepared to pay even the indemnity clause of the Hernandez treaty for an amount of 80 million euros. But it is unclear why they refused to do this.
The French citizen has a contract with Atletico until the summer of 2024 and the club is likely to offer him a new contract with a new, larger clause to stop future interest from other teams.
