WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross was recently interviewed by ESPN to promote this weekend's All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Double of Nothing pay-per-view (PPV). Ross discussed important decision makers in WWE without product knowledge and how high the expectations regarding Double or Nothing are.
These are the highlights:
Important decision makers in WWE without product knowledge:
I have always had some creative freedom to express myself. Over time, WWE knew again, I suspect they had done part of that research or it was due to personal philosophy, I have no idea, but most of them don't understand wrestling – they are there in administration .
They are great marketers, they have a few brilliant, brilliant people in WWE, no doubt about it, but I think some of the most important decisions are made without an excessive amount of product knowledge, which will not make them happy, but that's how I look at it . Vince could do better by surrounding himself with a different kind of consultant or writer or with creative people or whatever.
How high do I expect from Double or Nothing:
I am enthusiastic about the fact that our experience allows us to build a company and be talent-friendly, but in the end it comes down to the pressure on the talents that regularly produces a heluva match. And with a lot of effort and stories it is logical and plausible that it will not end.
The burners are all set on these boys. They have never been in an environment where they will expect as much from this company. We are young, we are green, we cannot stumble out of the box.
In one place it becomes fun to work, it becomes fun, communication becomes good, respect becomes the underlining word, but the expectations are expected to be higher among the AEW boys, in my opinion, than that they were once somewhere where they were have worked. Everywhere.
