Project Bruin, the most important drug trade on the west coast, results in two arrests Local | News



Raymond Patrick McLean, 38 years old of Stephenville; and 32-year-old Shamus Kenyon Harris of Corner Brook has been arrested under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act through a study called Project Brown.

The two are each confronted with accusations of: two counts of cocaine trade; two counts of possession of cocaine for the purpose of human trafficking; and a count of possession of a forbidden weapon.

It was on Thursday of the week that the Bay St George RCMP, with the help of Western District Serious Crime Unit, Police Dog Services and the Emergency Response Team made the arrests.

The same day the investigator carried out a search warrant at the McLean residence at Russell Heights in Stephenville, where about half a pound of cocaine, a quantity of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, cell phones and more than $ 12,000 were seized in cash.

Both men appeared before the court and were released with the date of their next session on 26 November.

The investigation is still ongoing and further arrests are expected.
