The name of Kevin Spacey is now a curse at the box office.
"Billionaire Boys Club" was one of the latest films that Spacey filmed before being accused in 2017 of allegations of sexual misconduct.
After the allegations, the film was moved to video-on-demand release on 17 July. "Billionaire Boys Club", also stars Ansel Elgort and Taron Egerton and Vertical Entertainment have finally pulled the trigger for a limited theater version on Friday 17 August.

The film was opened in 10 theaters across the United States and earned $ 126 on the first day and only $ 618 during its full opening weekend, according to Salon.
On average, that does not even amount to seven cinema tickets sold per theater. It is by far the lowest career box office implementation of Spacey's career. The budget for the film was $ 15 million.
After the public allegations against Spacey, Vertical Entertainment spoke about the difficult decision to continue with the release of the film.
"We hope that these troubling accusations relating to one's behavior – which were not publicly known when the movie was made nearly two and a half years ago and of someone who has a small, supporting role in Billionaire Boys Club – do do not affect the release of the film ", the company said.

"In the end, we hope that the public will form their own opinion on the objectionable accusations of someone's past, but not at the expense of the entire cast and crew present in this film," observes Vertical Entertainment.
Unfortunately for the company and the other actors involved, it seems that the billing of Spacey has seriously damaged the Billionaire Boys Club.
