CAVENDISH, P.E.I. – The police say a man from Quebec drowned while swimming from one of Atlantic Canada's most popular beaches.
They say that the 43-year-old man was only swimming at Cavendish Beach on Prince Edward Island.
RCMP says they were called on the scene on Friday at 11:40.
They say the water conditions were dangerous at that time, with high waves.
The investigation into the death of the man continues.
Parks Canada warned last weekend to arrest everyone in the Prince Edward Island National Park to prevent them from entering the water because of the high wind speeds that lead to the formation of currents in certain areas.
