Murder in Trent River is being investigated



TRENT RIVER – Northumberland OPP explores early Saturday morning early morning in Trent River, about 40 kilometers east of Peterborough.

The police arrived around 16:15 and found a wounded man. A neighbor on the road from the house said she saw two people running north at about a quarter past four

The injured man later died of his injuries. He has been identified as Scott MacDonald, 43, of Trent Hills.

The investigation is ongoing and concerns the OPP Northumberland Major Crime Unit, OPP Central Region Forensic Identification Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit, under the direction of Det.-Insp. Gerald Scherer of the OPP Criminal Investigation department

The police say they do not believe there is a threat to public security as a result of this incident.
