A 40-year-old woman is dead after a heavy collision with a car and a semi-truck in Abbotsford, B.C. Wednesday, police said.
The incident took place around 12.25 hours. at the intersection of Highway 11 and Clayburn Road.
Images from the scene showed a semi with damage to the front and the mangled remains of a gray Mazda that lay in front of it.
The police say the female driver of the car was declared dead on the spot.
"Names are not being released at the moment," the police said. "We express our condolences to the family and friends of those involved in this tragic crash."
Authorities have not provided information about the cause of the collision. Reconstruction experts with the Abbotsford police are now on stage and are trying to join together what has happened.
Highway 11 is closed between Harris and Bateman roads.
