Brampton defeats Coquitlam in Game 3 to stay in the final of the Minto Cup

CALGARY – The Brampton Excelsiors are still active in the Minto Cup final.

Justin Sykes had three goals and three assists, while Clarke Petterson added two goals and four helpers, while Brampton defeated the Coquitlam Adanacs in Game 3 of the best-of-five series for the Canadian junior-A boxing lacrosse championship on Friday-evening.

Seth Van Schepen and Austin Hasen also had two goals each for the Excelsiors, who went through the series 2-1 with Game 4 set for Saturday. Andrew Borgatti, Tyler McKay and Jeffrey Teat have added singles.

Colin Munro led the Adanacs with four goals and an assist, with Larson Sundown, Dylan Foulds, Chase Scanlan and William Clayton who took care of the rest of the offense.

Steven Orleman made 46 saves for the win when Christian Del Bianco stopped 34-of-46 shots in the defeat.

Brampton threw 2 for 4 on the power play while Coquitlam was 2 for 5.

Game 5, if necessary, goes Sunday.

Game 3 was originally set for Thursday, but was moved to Friday after Wednesday, Game 2 was postponed to 24 hours when the referees refused to take the floor.
