Not only do children with a fixed sleep routine win. The heart and metabolism of adults also appreciate it.
A lack of sleep can cause obesity, stress, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
The person who goes to bed and always gets up, lives healthier. There are several studies that show this.
A new study conducted by researchers at the Duke University Medical Center in the American city of Durham has shown that children are not the only ones who need regular sleep schedules.
Going to bed every day at the same time helps to have a stronger heart and a healthier metabolism, says the study.
The researchers studied the sleep patterns of 2,000 adults who carried sensors and wrote a sleep diary for a week.
Those who went to bed at different times were more likely to be overweight and have more blood glucose than those who were regular at these times.
Moreover, the risk of heart attacks and strokes increases in the group of less permanent habits.
Therefore, whoever goes to bed at the same time, also during the weekend, not only cares for his soul, but also for his body.
