The Steering Committee of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC) informed that on the basis of what was agreed in the National Committee of Coffee Growers, where the National Government announced an incentive of up to 25 thousand pesos per load of 125 kg dry parchment coffee. and when the internal reference price published by the Federation is lower than 700 thousand pesos.

A document states: "The steering committee recognizes the efforts of the government of President Iván Duque, who has been interested in supporting coffee farmers in Colombia since his campaign and only a few days after the start of his administration."

He adds that "the Steering Committee emphasizes that the incentive price of the government-granted incentive of 700 thousand pesos per load still does not cover the costs of coffee production, which were set at 760 thousand pesos on average for 2018 based on a rigorous study conducted by the Federation for three consecutive years, the Plan 2000 farms, which are representative of all geographical regions of Colombian coffee cultivation and of all sizes of producers ".

The letter reads: "The Colombian coffee growers, represented in the steering committee, ask the national government to continue studying alternative aid to the sector of which more than 541 thousand coffee farmers depend, and also irrigates large sectors of the economy in more than half of the municipalities in the country ", they point out.
