Of the various cancers that occur in Colombia, breast cancer is the first cause of farewell to women in the world and it is estimated that more than 11,000 cases will be diagnosed in 2020, of which more than 3,400 have been dismissed.

The problem for humans is not very different. A year in the country, 10,962 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed and one third of these leads to death. It is estimated that by the year 2020, 13.715 cases will be diagnosed and that there are 4,150 people who say goodbye to the world.
In the country, 90% of the affected patients are older than 60, while the lowest figures are concentrated in groups of men younger than 40 years. The regions with higher prevalence are Bogotá D.C., Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Atlántico, Caldas, Quindío and Huila with incidences of 70.5 to 147.6 per 100,000 male inhabitants.
Prostate cancer is ranked first as the most common cancer among men in the country.
That is why Astellas Farma Colombia is launching the campaign this month with the support and cooperation of patient organizations such as the RASA Foundation, Vital Return, Simmon Foundation, among others and the general public. "Prostate your priority together for the same cause."
"The numbers surrounding prostate cancer are important and increasing, and nowadays many men can suffer from the disease, without even knowing it.For this reason we have decided to create this campaign because we aim for both men and women to make the key to timely detecting the disease, "said Andrés López, Access Manager of Astellas Farma Colombia.
This campaign is intended to extend an invitation to men older than 40 years to undergo the two respective studies for the timely detection of prostate cancer: the prostate-specific antigen test and the digital rectal examination, to detect a sign or symptom in time; and women to take care of their husbands, parents, friends or brothers and sisters and to guide them in this process
Those who want to be part of the campaign can do so through their social networks with the hashtag # ProstateTuPriority, in which they can share their opinions, stories or statements of support with people who suffer from the disease. United for the same purpose: saving lives thanks to early detection, proof that all Colombians can achieve great results "together for the same purpose".
Do not forget that the month of October was dedicated to breast cancer, where Profamilia calls through the campaign "Tocarte es cuidarte" women, through self-care and education, to raise awareness about the prevention of breast cancer. breast cancer and know what the early detection methods are that can help them discover or detect a possible disease.
There is no proven way to prevent this disease, however, due to early detection and timely treatment, recovery results can be very beneficial.
